G.I.Joe did it. The Transformers did it.
Now we'll get a chance to see if the board game Battleship can make the jump
from the toybox to the big screen.
The board game Battleship will soon be a movie.Director Peter Berg's
Universal-backed actioner "Battleship," based on the venerable Hasbro toy,
is prepping to start shooting at Baton Rouge's Celtic Studios in August, one
of a handful of new projects to show up on the latest list of in-state film
production activity provided by Louisiana Entertainment, the state's film
office.
Taylor Kitsch ("Wolverine") is set to star in Berg's ("Hancock," "The
Kingdom") film, which reportedly will focus on an international navy that
unites to defeat a mysterious enemy. (Translation: "Aaahhh! Aliens!")
"Battleship" is set for a May 25, 2012, release.
