The Irish in Louisiana were making their own history long before the
American Colonies won their independence. Today Irish influence is pervasive
throughout Louisiana and touches every aspect of our society. The mission of
the Irish Club is to promote that Irish culture and those Irish traditions
in the Greater Baton Rouge area by participating in the International
Heritage Festival, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and by supporting groups
such as the Muggivan’s Irish Dancers, the Danny O’Flaherty Concerts and
other similar events. The newly created Irish Film Festival will add another
opportunity for everyone in the area to learn more about the Irish
experience and have fun at the same time. |
